WCLV's Jacqueline Gerber chats with Joseph Rubin, director and producer of the semi-staged Rodgers and Hart musical in a free performance June 21 at 7 p.m. at Akron's Goodyear Theater.

The musical, about a true incident during the Revolutionary War, had its first out-of-town tryout in Akron a century ago before moving to Broadway. For the Akron Bicentennial, the musical is being offered as a part of Akron's theatrical heritage. Click on the link to register.

WCLV's Jacqueline Gerber talks with Steven Daigle, who will retire at the end of next summer's 2026 season, and his recently-named successor, Jacob Allen, about the six shows that begin with Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Carousel" on June 14. The shows are performed in repertory through August 3 at the Friedlander Theater at the College of Wooster.

Les Délices' concert season concludes with a series of performances called The Mermaid. Musical storyteller joins the band for a program of sea shanties, pirate ballads, fiddle tunes, and more. Les Délices' director Debra Nagy spoke to WCLV's John Mills about the performances.

On Thursday, April 24, Yom HaShoah, at 9:00 p.m., WVIZ will air The Sparks Fly Upward, an opera by Cathy Lesser Mansfield. WCLV's John Mills spoke to Mansfield and conductor Daniel Singer about this production at the Maltz Performing Arts Center from June 2022.

WCLV's Jacqueline Gerber chats with JJ Hudson, who directs the 's production of Mozart's opera. The performances will be presented at the Mimi Ohio Theater at Playhouse Square Wednesday, April 23rd and Friday, April 25th. Both performances start at 7 p.m.
